Fighting food insecurity across Schenectady County

Our mission:
Schenectady Shares is a volunteer initiative focused on addressing food insecurity and related health and well-being concerns in Schenectady County.

Our vision:
Schenectady Shares is committed to restocking food providers beyond the holidays, and by promoting awareness about year-round food insecurity.

2025 Pantry Drive

The campaign runs from January 7 – February 15, with collection sites across Schenectady County.

The need for food security has grown & we are here to help!

Our food providers are facing greater demand for their services every year. Our goal is to provide resources where our community needs them the most!

"Schenectady Shares provided a fun and welcoming atmosphere for students like myself to work together with community leaders to distribute food to nearby providers across the county. This hands-on project allowed me to understand the impact of community engagement and motivated me to get more involved."

— Mary, Student Volunteer, Union College

“Food is a reason for joy, and when folks have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, it takes away joy and stability.”
